Ensemble
Offspring in association with the New Music Network presents
A Composer Profile Bozidar Kos
CELEBRATING 70 YEARS
Date: Sunday 4th July
Time: 6pm
Venue: Music Workshop, Sydney Conservatorium of Music
Since migrating to Australia as a jazz musician from Slovenia, Bozidar
Kos has established himself as one of Australia's foremost musical
craftsmen. Ensemble Offspring profiles this respected composer as
he reaches his 70th birthday with a concert of chamber music written
by him and by younger Australian composers with whom he has enjoyed
a close working relationship. The concert will feature the world premiere
of Fatamorgana commissioned by Ensemble Offspring to celebrate the
event, his two Catenas written for the Australia Ensemble and the
piano solo Kolo. In addition Ensemble Offspring is in the fortunate
position of presenting the world premiere of a new work by English
composer Michael Finnissy Springtime especially written for Ensemble
Offspring and dedicated to its co-founder Matthew Shlomowitz.
