Gregor Kregor
Piercing the Clouds
Installation Exhibition

The Tin Sheds Gallery
The Faculty of Architecture Design and Planning
The University of Sydney

21 June -12 July 2008

Drawn on utopian ideas of architecture and a constructivist impulse to merge art and life
Kregar will consider the possibility of moving cities from the earth's surface into the air through
reflected surfaces.

Complex geometric sculptures constructed with triangulated forms of mirrored stainless
steel together with photographs and videos of clouds, create a refracted collage of overlapping skies in the Tin Sheds gallery. For Kregar, sculpture is not just something to observe, often combining scale,
materials and sound to remind the viewer of their bodies...'much of my sculpture, including this work, is meant to trigger ideas and get people thinking and talking about how we use space -
to think about why we build what we build...'
Born in Slovenia, Kregar currently lives in New Zealand and is represented by Michael Reid Gallery, Sydney, NSW.
